Craig's Betting Blog - 2YO Horse Racing Tips : Wednesday's 2yo Races (27th July)

2:00 Redcar – Chuzzlewitt cost a lot and has the group entry. If 6/4 and less sp has very high stats (although price to chance) if outside best betting guide would be much weaker. Hoy is capable and won well last time out. Has to defy the penalty. Similarly Lakota Blue has show a level of ability. Betting suggests this is a three-horse race and not much value. Reginald Charles was given a Gimcrack entry. Beaten by Hoy and even more disappointing next start when perhaps going a fraction too fast. May be a little better than seen but has something to prove although a big price. Smart does well at Redcar but may have ew claims although a bit of a hit and hope.

Conclusion: If Chuzzlewitt is priced 6/4 and less sp I think he will be tough to beat (but as with all short priced there to be taken on).

3:00 Goodwood –

A great race to watch.

4:45 Goodwood –

A class 2 stakes race with a few classy juveniles.

No great opinion.

6:00 Leicester –

Day Member has fair stats if 13/2 and less sp.

6:50 Sandown –

Flying Honours has high stats (but no value). Lisboa has fair claims (27%) at 13/2 and less sp. Has something to prove after debut but always possible. Starnberg ran well on debut (a decent race although banded) and has an ew chance. May appreciate a greater test of stamina and a horse that should run to the line but possibly outpaced early.

Conclusion:

I can’t see too much happening here. A couple of tricky races where I would need to see the betting to make a full assessment.
